Series contains records related to Jae Kim’s higher education from his undergraduate years and onwards. From 2020 to 2024, Kim attended the University of Toronto for his undergraduate degree and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Book and Media Studies and Minors in English and Sexual Diversity Studies. In the same year (2024), he entered the first year of his Master of Information program at the University of Toronto. Most of the records in this series were created during Kim’s time in Toronto during his studies, but some materials pertain to research trips in Montreal, Chicago, and San Diego.
Series consists of records relating to Kim’s coursework, research contributions, extracurricular activities, and academic achievements. Records include significant essays, research papers, conference presentations, scholarship and grant applications, diplomas and certificates, published articles, and annotated research notes. Series also contains graduate school applications, letters of recommendation, as well as documents related to co-op jobs and research assistant positions. Additional materials document Kim’s professional memberships in student organizations, including meeting minutes, flyers, and correspondence related to academic clubs and archival associations.
Records are arranged by activity to reflect the original purpose and function of the materials. Academic coursework, including essays, research papers, and lecture notes, is grouped together, while materials related to professional development, student organizations and extracurriculars, financial aid and scholarships, and graduate school and co-op applications are organized by their respective activities. The majority of records exist in digital format (PDF, DOCX, and email files), with some printed and handwritten materials included.
