This series contains records created during Robyn’s travel in Italy before and during her work on the Villa of Titus archaeology site. The records document her time spent in Rome, Florence and the village of Castel Sant’Angelo. The records include receipts from restaurants and grocery shopping, tickets from trains and museums, and notes about archeological sites visited. Photos were taken daily by Robyn, documenting daily travel and activities.

The Robyn Bachmeier fonds consists of her records created and collected during her time as a graduate student at McMaster University. It contains records of textual materials, photographs, videos, tickets, paystubs, receipts, email correspondence, field journals, site plans, and drawings. The fonds pertains to her Classics and language course work and Teaching Assistant position in the Classics department. It also contains records from her time writing her thesis “Coins in the Archaeological Context: The Villa of Titus Case Study” (2021). It includes her travel in Italy and all information and records created excavating and recording the archaeological excavation of the Villa of Titus site for two field seasons. The fonds consists of five series that are grouped by topic, and it includes analog and digital formats.

This series contains records created and collected by Robyn for the completion of her MA thesis “Coins in the Archaeological Context: The Villa of Titus Case Study”, as well as her bound completed published thesis. The records are from the research and writing of her thesis including her studies of Roman numismatics, specifically the coinage of the Roman Emperor Claudius. As well as records created and collected at the excavation of the Villa of Titus archaeology site, which were used for the research and completion of her thesis.

Field Journal

Journal is a "field journal" and contains daily notes and drawings from the excavation of the Villa of Titus. It was brought on site daily by Robyn to record all activities performed that day in detail and any findings and preliminary analyses.
